What is WAG?
Improving, educating, and supporting the waste industry in North Carolina
Our mission is to collect, interpret, and provide relevant data, reports, and training to our members, vendors, and others who are interested in improving waste management. WAG serves all waste markets: solid waste, liquid waste, industrial waste, recovered materials, reusable materials, recycling and upcycling.
Our training, courses, and skill development workshops are created around Solid Waste Rules and Regulations. All data gathered by WAG is focused on North Carolina.

Materials for Learning
WAG’s Operational Training equips landfill and transfer station operators with hands-on instruction, vendor support, and the latest NCDEQ regulations—ensuring practical, up-to-date guidance tailored to member needs.
Continuing Education for Landfill Operators & Managers
WAG courses are approved for CEUs by NCDEQ and count toward renewal with NCSWANA and LaBella. We also offer PDHs recognized by the NC Board of Engineers, while building our own independent certification program.

By making a donation you help us achieve WAG’s Mission to curate Educational Trainings, provide membership support, and aid in our continual drive to provide our members with contextual data regarding landfills within our Chapters. Any Donation to WAG is considered as a charitable contributions and can be reported on annual taxes. .

If your operators are unable to attend one of our scheduled events and you have a large number of operators that need certification renewal, we can schedule a training seminar for your facility. We will make every effort to accommodate requests for training classes provided that you are willing to allow other operators from surrounding counties to attend the training.
